TRASCENDING THE UNSOLVINGS TENSIONS OF THE MIND.

The mind is in constant anxiety
When we understand that the mind have a deep existential anxiety we can start relaxing about that fundamental tension that can not be solve. We need to know and point in our process of self-realization what to leave alone in order to alleviate those inner efforts and conversations that can make us going in endless loops.

The mind is trap in the between
The mind is a bridge between the concrete form and the infinite part of us. It is a passage between the invisible and visible, between life and death, between the body and the spirit. Therefore, have no real ground to stand on it, it is just a bridge, a between, an unstable transitorial existence. Deep down we know that, and deep down we have a primal, core anxiety that the mind offer us. The mind is tense and will remain tense, because the link is always stretch, each of the parts, the body and no-body have a gravity, a pull, and the mind is trap into, is in the middle between the material and the no-material.
The mind is a mysterious bridge that unite this contradictory and complementary realities.
The mind always is in paradox, do not matter how ignorant or in denial you are of either reality, you are always in constant negotiation througth your mind with this inner tension.

The mind does not know who she/he is
The other aspect we need to understand about the mind is that is a not a definite thing with us. Mind is a process, it is always changing, influence it by the inner and external environment. It is  a noisy process, a violent process and a tense process. The mind is a flux between the past and the future, a past that is pulling with certain wait and the future that have no arrive jet. This inner movement is what we call mind, and it produce so much tension in us that we are not able to rest quietly without doing nothing and simple observe, witness this ping pong game. We are so desperately trap in this game that we use the senses to get distracted, dull, and away from facing the  inner crowd. We fight hard not to be conscious of it, we prefer to waste our energy in mean less survivals and vane pleasures to dissipate that inner lack of identity.

You born with no mind
The mind is acquired, it is adopted, taught, conditioned by the society, by others for a certain purpose. You born with a potentiality of a mind, with a possibility, that seed had being over emphasized at the point we have being devour by the mind. Our mind become the mind of others, the past of others, that remove us from life, from the present, it put us in an orthodox frame of existence. Our mind is always old and life is new fresh,  that is another inner tension we need to look at it.

To work with the mind is pointless
The only way to jump over this inner, unresolved tensions, is to transcend the mind itself.
It is difficult and arduous work because we have to leave the mind behind completely, we need to go beyond and leave the mind as it is, without touch it.

It is as we are in a relationship that offer us abuse and unhappiness, we can try to solve the so many factor that cause that suffering, we can twist our personalities, emotions and behaviors, but if the relationship is not giving us a core change is it just better to leave behind and to move on. Same thing we need to do with the mind. There is no point in accommodating all this inner tensions, it is just fair to leave behind. To start sitting those 10 minutes in meditation and to look for that open sky that had have being awaiting for us.

How to do a meditation to solve inner conflicts

We are often confused and held in deadlock when inner conflict blocks our ability to think and act clearly.
In these moments, the mind’s prana, or energy, is scattered and distributed in a disturbed manner.

This breath pattern holds the breath out three times as long as it is held in. So, the body senses a lack of prana in vital areas of functioning and asks how it can quickly and optimally reorganize itself to respond to this survival threat.

The fibers of the Pranic Body extend and re-channel the prana to form a new pattern filled with clarity and action potential. Your built-in computer can calculate your total resources and the level of challenge, then design a strategy to prepare and use the mind and body effectively.

This meditation resolves many conflicts and is an automatic reflex for survival. Inner conflict is the result of excess or disturbed prana. The effect is certain, gradual, and simple. Be honest with the breath timing, and the meditation will be honest with you.

Sit in an Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh.

Eyes: Close the eyes 9/10ths of the way.

Mudra: Place the hands over the chest, with the palms on the torso at the level of the breasts. The fingers point toward each other across the chest.

Breath: The key to this meditation is attention to the breath. Inhale deeply and completely for 5 seconds. Exhale completely for 5 seconds. Hold the breath out for15 seconds, by suspending the chest motion as you pull in the Navel Point and abdomen.

Time: Begin with 11 minutes. Build up to 31 or 62 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply and stretch the arms up over the head. Relax the breath and shake the arms and hands for 15-30 seconds. Relax.

7 guidelines for restful sleep By Satkiana Shaw

1. Body Position:

You may be surprised at this one...sitting up to sleep is best. Kapha is heightened when we sleep, producing more mucous in the body. If we are sitting-up to sleep, less mucous forms and we remain in alignment with the Earth and Sky.

My father spent the last few years of his life sleeping in a "Lazy-Boy" chair. Little did he know he was connecting with the wise ways of the yogis.

East-West is Best: Sleeping with your head pointed towards the East produces a restful, meditative sleep, because your head is pointed in the direction of the sun.

South = Health: Boosts your health as the magnetic lines of force of the earth draws energy into the body and stabilizes it there.

West = Distress: Dreams will be of a disturbing nature as the feet are pointed in the sun's fiery direction and the feet are connected to your dreams.

North...Very Cold: This position is best for corpses. I'm not kidding. In India, corpses are laid with their heads to the North to hasten decomposition and prevent the departed soul or a wandering spirit from entering into the body. The magnetic lines of force draw the energy out of the body through the head. I have a North pointing bed and could not switch it to fit the room, so I simply sleep with my head at the foot of the bed, facing South! Moon-time: We want to enhance our lunar energy when we sleep. She will carry us into peaceful and restful sleep and dreams.

Sleeping on the left side opens the right nostril, enhancing the solar energy and arouses sensual desire. So, sleep on your right side and you will be breathing from the left nostril, enhancing that moon mama energy for a deep, restful and alert sleep. Wind at your Back; Sleeping on your back, no matter how comfy your mattress, disturbs Vata resulting in an airy mind, poor body coordination and may lead to disease in the body/mind.

2. High or Low? I used to live in a tiny one room apartment and a former boyfriend built me a very tall bed so that I could have some living space underneath it. I had to climb onto a dresser to access the bed! Not so good, says the Vedas. The height of the bed should be equal to the height of the sleeper's knee.

3. Zen room:
The room should always be clean, well-ventilated and silent and pyjamas should be clean and loose.

4. Clear Mind: Give your mind time to relax before going to sleep. No eating, reading or serious thinking 2 hours prior to bed.

5. Meditate Instead! Wash you hands, feet and face, massage your feet with a little warm oil to ground your energy into the earth and sit quietly with your spine straight, remain silent...just observe your busy mind...with kindness and acceptance for whatever is there. Some days it is busier than others. No big deal. It will become quieter with practice, patience and time.

6. No Kitchen Naps: Kitchens and food prep areas are not meant for sleeping in!

7. Beds=Sleeping: go to bed only to sleep and get up immediately upon waking.

triphla: the magic herb for all constitutions

Triphala is the most well-known Ayurvedic digestive tonic, comprised of 3 traditional Ayurvedic herbs which help promote proper digestion, colon health and liver support.
Ayurvedic Herbs Direct's Advanced Formula Triphala combines pure powders of the 3 fruits with each of their concentrated extracts, providing optimal benefits from these essential Ayurvedic nutrients.
Triphala is now widely-recognized worldwide as a bowel tonic superior to common laxatives, since it naturally helps establish and maintain digestive health.
Packaging: 120 tablets
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take 3 tablets 1 to 3 times daily between meals.

Product Overview

Triphala is a traditional combination of three fruits: Harataki (Harada), Bibitaki (Behada) and Amla that has been used in Ayurvedic herbalism for thousands of years. Triphala's historical use as a digestive cleanser and tonifier has been backed up with numerous modern scientific studies demonstrating the positive effects of its component herbs on the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, Triphala has been shown to be a potent antioxidant, protecting cells against the damaging effects of free radicals.

Authorities like Dr. Andrew Weil consider Triphala to be a superior bowel tonic, rather than a laxative, with its benefits increasing over time. Laxatives typically are habit-forming and do not enhance normal body elimination of wastes; this is not the case with (moderate doses of) Triphala.
Triphala is commonly used as a mild-acting internal cleanser and detoxifier. It supports liver and overall gastrointestinal function.

The stealer of life flow

These last two weeks, I have been exposed to the subtle effects that
the mind has over the flow of consciousness.

It was in a meditation class experiencing a union of  pure listening
and active presence, and was exposed to the difference between inner commands and the natural flow.

I was sitting, as usual in my meditation chair, holding the space for
a small group of students to meditate. Beside me was a new comer to the group, who announced herself as being experienced in meditation.

After reflecting on the topic of the hypnotic trance of the mind, we
began the meditation, I suggested to the group to start by taking a
deep breath and to focus for a few minutes on the flow of the breath .

Observing my own breath as a starting point of centering and
connecting to the request of the moment.
I also noticed the forceful breath of the person sitting beside me.

It was in one of these inhalations that I become aware of a  gap
between her flow of life and mine. It was becoming evident to me that
my breath was under no authority, it means that I was not breathing
myself, breath was happening to me, and I was simply observing it .

It was a moment of lucid contemplation when the flow of consciousness was being observed.  It was a divine happening, that gave animation to my body. My “ I “ had nothing do with the life force that was happening to me. It became an observed phenomenon.

What seemed curious was that the person beside me was making big efforts to maintain  concentration and to oblige  her breath to flow to the rhythm and depth of  what she thought was the “ correct way”.
She had an idea, a concept of  the “ how”, she was not really
listening to the present moment and to what her unique space was
requesting from her.

It was clear to me, that in that moment she was taking away life from
her being, her conceptual mind was literally stealing her life force
from her. It left no room for the pure consciousness of life and love
to dwell in her experience.

It was also clear to me that in order to be fully aware we need to
reclaim consciousness from the mind .Our hows, and concepts stop us from listening, from allowing the emergence of the real and natural parts of us.

It is surely a trance of the mind that makes us hear what it wants us
to, and when that happens we stop listening, we stop the flow of life,
we stop the opportunity of change, we stop the possibility of
experiencing oneself  in a fresh, and not cunning way.

Until we identify and stop obeying this part of our mind we hear and
apply what we want in order to remain unchanged, we only listen what reinforces the old, what we know, what we believe.

We live when we let it flow, we love when we care and respect that
spontaneous divine flow.

As we progress in our  spiritual journey, at one point we need to drop what we know and to trust that our daily practice has educated us to respond closely to our natural way, closely to the purity of our own identity. It is an act of trust, and act of presence, integrity and
innocence.

Ghee the golden flow of life

Ghee the golden flow of life
Ghee is butter from which the water and milk solids have been removed (and therefore it may be tolerated by those with dairy sensitivities, allergies, or candida).

A Healing Food
Ghee is a revered cooking medium in Ayurveda due to its healing ability to balance body and mind, promoting longevity.

Rich in antioxidants and beta-carotene, ghee fights the harmful effects of free radicals.

Foods cooked in ghee become substantially more healing as it transports nutrients deep into the vital tissues of the body.

Ghee increases digestive fire and improves absorption and assimilation. It gives vitality, strengthens the brain and nervous system, and improves memory. It lubricates the connective tissue and makes the body more flexible.

Its medicinal properties are said to improve with age. It is not uncommon to find 100 year old ghee on the Ayurvedic Doctor’s shelf in India.

How to make Ghee

1 pound unsalted, organic butter

In a heavy sauce-pan, melt butter over medium heat. Continue to cook at medium low heat. Do not cover the pot--it is important to boil the water out and separate the solids. The butter will bubble and make bubbling sounds. The ghee will begin to smell like popcorn and will turn a golden color. Whitish curds will form and separate from the clear ghee. When the whitish curds turn a light tan color, the ghee is ready.

Quickly take it off the heat before it burns. which it can do rapidly. Cool slightly. Ghee is the clear golden liquid. Pour ghee through a fine mesh strainer into a clean glass container.

Ghee can be kept on the kitchen shelf—it does not need refrigeration. Don’t ladle out the ghee with a wet spoon or allow any water or food particles to get into the container as this will create the conditions for bacteria to grow and spoil the ghee very quickly.

If you do not cook ghee long enough, it can spoil.

MEDITATION FOR CHILDREN

This meditation is welcome in time of change for children and of course, the meditation can be done anytime! Children, especially under the age of six, have a much shorter attention span than adults. All meditations with movement and variation work well. They like simple celestial communication.

Sit in Easy Pose.
Mantra: The mantra is:
I AM HAPPY, I AM GOOD,
I AM HAPPY, I AM GOOD.
SAT NAAM SAT NAAM SAT NAAM JEE
WHA-HAY GUROO WHA-HAY GUROO
WHA-HAY GUROO JEE

Mudra: In the rhythm of the mantra, the children shake their index fingers up and down (like their parents might sometimes do when they are reproaching the child).

MEDITATION TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Yes, I know there is not a final answer to this question, since we are in constant flux of movement. However I must say to you there is a part of you that it never change, that is constant beyond time and space and that only you will be at peace when you establish a friendly relationship to it. Do this meditation for 40 days and see the increase of security, peace and inner stability.

Sit in an Easy Pose or comfortable in a chair,
Eyes: Focus the lightly closed eyes at the Third Eye Point (between the eyebrows.)
Mantra: SAT NAAM ( sat means true, naam means identity)
Mudra: With the four fingers of the right hand, feel the pulse on the left wrist. Place the fingers in a straight line, lightly, so that you can feel the pulse in each fingertip. On each beat of the heart, mentally hear the sound SAT NAAM.
Time: Continue for 11 minutes. Build to 31 minutes.
