This recipe comes from the kitchen of Christiane Ryan. Nettle is the herb to fortify the system and in folk medicine nettle plants have been used as a diuretic, to build the blood, for arthritis and rheumatism. Externally it has been used to improve the appearance of the hair, and is said to be a remedy against oily hair and dandruff.

Collect this herb in early spring before it flowers, it can be used fresh or dry.

Where dreams come from?

As the subtle life of the universe showers us with its immense abundance of love and life, we can think of ourselves as a vessel of this divine flow (Prana).

When this flow of energy or prana unites with our mind, it is able to highlight the traces of memories contained in our physical body as well as in our energetic centers or chakras.

Dreaming and Conscious sleep

As far as I am concerned, the only potential that I have is to make every single moment useful to educate my mind and to communicate with the infinite as my source of pure existence. My time does not start when the sun comes up and it does not finish when I fall asleep.  The time that is given to me needs to be understood in two states: the waking state and the dream state.

Fragrances to sleep and dream

Essential oils of holy basil induce sleep and dreams

Essential oils come from plants.  They are highly concentrated herbal extracts.  Therefore one could use Mugwort essential oil instead of the herb for dream enhancement purposes.

Clary Sage enhances dream state, calms nerves and relieves symptoms of insomnia. *Do not use during pregnancy. In addition, it  encourages vivid dreams and clear inner visions.

Rosemary essential oil may prevent dark thoughts and nightmares and can help you remember good dreams. Rosemary (Rosemary officinalis) is good for mental strain, exhaustion, and lethargy. Its nature is stimulating.

The essential oils of chamomile, Melissa and Tulsi, (holy basil), are useful to induce relaxation and alleviate insomnia.

Celebrating togetherness

Food has that ever so magical way of bringing people together.  Okay, so maybe it’s not so magical.  There is no mystery surrounding the fact that we all love to eat!  Sharing food is a gratifying means of serving others and connecting socially.  When communities unite, food is almost always a central part of the gathering.

The next gathering of community will occur in October at Thanksgiving.  Families and groups of people  come together at this time to enjoy a big meal and each other’s company.  I searched through my recipe collection and put together a tasty vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner….an alternative to the usual “Tofurkey,”.
Enjoy this mouth-watering meal and the deliciousness that is found in belonging to a community of like-hearted people.
